We are making the mail man work for his money.
Here are the packages that arrived today.

It is probably closer to 15,000 cards than 10,000 cards. Looks like people really like our new pricing.
Here is a photo from a few weeks ago. This was what happened when our last promotion ended.

It was two weeks ago that we adjusted our fee structure. We got some very helpful feedback from several sellers, and we were able to tweak the fee structure to make the fees work for as many buyers and sellers as possible.
Today I am happy to let you know that we set a record for total sales in one day. The growth of the site over the last year has literally blown me away.
By 9:00 PM today, we exceeded the total sales from the entire month of October last year.
There is still a chance that by the end of the day we will surpass the sales from the entire month of November last year. That is mind boggling.
I need to thank all of my amazing employees. They have been working so hard the last few weeks to process the record number of cards that have been sent to us. Also, I need to thank all of the sellers and other members of the site that have been spreading the word about CheckOutMyCards.com. This kind of growth is only made possible by each of your efforts.
I want to thank each and every one of you for helping this dream come true! It is really working. The concept is really working.

I have been amazed. In spite of the economy growing south, our site continues to grow at an blazing rate. Over the last two weeks our website revenue has been up 25% from last month, which was also a record setting month.
Now is a great time to sell mid-range cards. The average price of a card that sells from our site is $2. If you are sitting on a large quantity of cards in the $1 – $20 range and you want some extra cash, this might be the right time to start selling. We will even process your first 100 cards for free. Just print off this blog post or write “100 free” on a piece of paper and include it with the cards you send us this month. Learn more about how to ship to us.

I just noticed that we recently passed $1 million total book value for sale.
The total book value for sale across all the sellers is currently $1,013,174.03.
Cool milestone. Not bad for a little more than one year of our consignment service.

I just noticed that we crossed the 300,000 card barrier this weekend.

I also noticed that bigkoi2008 and alpthecards recently broke into the top 10 sellers list.
bigkoi2008 would be even higher on the list if we factored in his items that are so rare that they don’t even have prices listed in Beckett.

alpthecards also has some amazing cards.
I would also like to note that Dpietrack has been selling cards so fast that he has fallen off the top 10 list, but he has many more cards waiting to go on the site, so I am sure we will see him back up there soon. Here is a quick testimonial we got from Dpietrack last Thursday.
Yesterday was my sixth month anniversary as a seller on check out my cards. Thanks to Tim, Steve, Mark, and all of my friends at C.O.M.C. it has been a great fun experience. NO QUESTION Checkoutmycards is the best all round site of its kind in the world. The sky is the limit for the future, and it is exciting to be along for the ride. In my first six months I have sold over 2,700 cards with a book value of over $27,000. Where else could a first time seller do that? Thanks C.O.M.C. Keep up the good work

The response from the National has been overwhelmingly positive. A few people still don’t have computers and aren’t interested in buying or selling online, but unlike last year, we are now more than just a concept. People are ready to give us a try. We talked to numerous large dealers, store owners, and eBay power sellers that are ready to try something different.
Considering the fact that more than half a million different people have visited the site over the past year, I was surprised by how many people have still not heard of us. Everyone we talked to that has used CheckOutMyCards.com or even just casually visited it has loved the site.
The highlight of the show for me is definitely seeing how excited our users are. hotsmurf1390 made sure to come by our booth on the first night and introduced us to some of his friends from Austria. He met us at last year’s National and became a seller soon after that. bdrum67 started selling football cards around the time of the Super Bowl and has helped spur on a snowball effect that has tripled our inventory of football cards. rithm is one of our sellers that has only used the site to flip cards. He hasn’t yet sent us cards that he has on hand, but he has successfully re-sold cards that he has purchased off the site. We also got to chat with Seattle area dealers eaglescards and hankssportscards.

This week DPietrack became the first consignment seller to sell more than $10,000 BV worth of cards. He only started selling a little over two months ago. He is offering great cards at amazing prices, and they have not been lasting long. If you see something you like, you better grab it soon.

This week we also crossed another milestone. We now have 10 sellers that have more than $10,000 BV worth of cards on the site.

SteveSC is one of our top sellers, and when mentioned that this was the first month where he made more money off sales from CheckOutMyCards.com than he did from the card shows he does on weekends, I decided to see exactly how we were doing…
Wow! The site is definitely back up and working smoothly. This week we have been setting records for number of orders and size of orders. Several people have been placing 100+ card orders.
Yesterday we set another record for most sellers in one purchase. Someone from New South Wales, Australia placed an order for 139 cards from 30 different sellers and only had to pay $20 for shipping to Australia. That is absolutely amazing!
All of the cards were Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, or David Robinson cards.

Here were the sellers involved with the sale.

This month we jumped up 5 spots on the Seattle Startup Index that is published by the Seattle 2.0 Blog.
I noticed that no site that was ranked below us jumped above us. That is cool. We are growing faster than our nearest peers.
Thank you for visiting our site and helping us to become the fastest growing sports card website on the internet!

Engineering a move is always fun… for those that like to dance with the unknown and predict the unexpected. I, on the other hand, am very glad that we are almost done. Due to the recent spike in demand for our consignment service, we had to move much faster than I would have liked, but I am super excited about our new facility and our new ability to grow much more rapidly.
Last Friday we signed the lease, and on Sunday we started moving in. The inventory was successfully moved without skipping a beat. The new location has allowed us to easily have teams of people processing cards. Almost everything was going more smoothly and quickly than expected… until we started to configure the network in our new office.
We were hoping to have the internet hooked up on Tuesday, but Murphy’s Law intervened. Now the latest estimate is that the internet will be hooked up on Friday. At least it isn’t like the old days where it often took 3-6 months to get a decent internet connection. Unfortunately, almost all of our staff will be out of town this weekend, so we may not be able to commence filling orders until Monday.
The office space should be fully furnished and everything should be back to the regular swing of things by the end of next week. Deliveries of office furniture and computers are expect to arrive in the middle of next week.
Status Update for Buyers
- Order Status: Assume that your orders won’t be shipped until Monday April 14.
Status Update for Sellers
- Current Shipments: For those of you that have received an estimate for when your cards will be done being processed, the move has pushed us an extra two weeks behind on processing cards.
- Recent Shipments: For those of you that recently sent us shipments of cards, I hope to send the “Shipment Arrived Notification” emails this weekend.
- Future Shipments: For those of you patiently waiting to send us more cards, we expect to start listing our new shipping location next week.
